This past Sunday at St Francis, Canon Natalie Hall shared a simple way to make corporate daily devotions in the home a realistic way to re-energize the faith of everyone in your household. It’s called Faith Five: in which 1) we share our highs and lows for the day, 2) read a Scripture, 3) talk about the Scripture in connection to your highs and lows, 4) pray for each other’s highs and lows, and then 5) bless one another. If you are single, you can get together with others, at least once a week, perhaps around a mealtime. This regular practice can do wonders for building relationships with God and others! [Note the recording does have workshop time included, which hopefully you can practice along in your own home.]

A little delay on posting the last two sermons, covering the anointing of David by Samuel and the famous David vs. Goliath story. Just know God has expects humility, especially of those in leadership. And also know that God can bring an unexpected victory over any fear we face with the means he has placed in our hands, no matter how meager.

What happens when you don’t exalt God as your only true king? Find out as Israel fails to heed Samuel’s warnings. May we truly make Jesus our only Lord and look for humility in our human leadership, whether in the Church, government, business, or civic institutions.

What happens when God calls us? Maybe look at the Prophet Samuel’s life and find out.

This past Trinity Sunday, we explored how each member of the Godhead is transcendent, and how we are inspired to worship so great God!

Our lessons this day reinforce God as immanent, and we who believe are beneficiaries of the new creation and divine enlightenment. We are also accountable to be witnesses unashamed to share the Good News of Christ’s love.

This final week before Pentecost we are reminded that God’s message of salvation is corroborated as true.

As we mark the Ascension of our Lord, we are reminded of what heaven really is.

In our lessons from this past Sunday, we come to realize that the message of the Risen Christ is a message that can give us true joy!
