Last week our lesson from Numbers showed how a loving God renews his covenant by offering divine healing when his people’s sin wreaked venomous havoc. This looked forward to Christ’s healing of our souls through his sacrifice on Calvary.

 

Today’s lesson from Jeremiah introduces us to the promise of a New Covenant for God’s people. Then, they looked forward to a covenant that prioritized a loving relationship with God and neighbor over mere obedience. Now, we find that covenant through faith in Jesus Christ and letting divine love motivate how we interact with all.
