Two for one, today.  The past two weeks of Gospel readings–last Sunday, and today–reveal that following Jesus isn’t always a bed of roses.  We can expect friction in both our closest relationships as well as with the larger culture.  But ultimately the way Jesus leads us brings us into God’s best, no matter how rugged the cross we may have to bear.  We simply need to be aware that conflicts will happen, even while we are called to be faithful, gracious, loving, and forgiving.
